ME AND THE HAMBURGER BUNS

ME AND THE HAMBURGER BUNS

Yesterday I had three good sized meals. In other words, I had no reason at all to be hungry at seven o’clock in the evening, but I was! All I could think about was a hamburger. “I need a hamburger.”  “I want a hamburger.” “I want a hamburger now!”

In the midst of all this beef craving I happened to look in the direction of the kitchen sink. There it sat, the culprit, proudly and blatantly displaying itself on the counter top was a brand new package of hamburger buns I had purchased that morning.

Instead of putting those buns in the cupboard as I should have, I had elected to “display” them in plain view thus causing in me the constant urge to use them! I quickly put them where they belonged out of sight.

As I thought about the whole scenario and the dynamic effect the display had created, I realized this is exactly why I urge my students to create their own quiet kind of altar to represent the desires of their hearts. An altar has the power to create that little extra focal point to keep your personal goals in mind.

I suggest the display be “quiet” because an altar does not have to be blatantly religious unless that is what you want. For example if you have other folks in your home they may not always agree with your ideas of a supreme power or divine help. A statue of Buddha or picture of Mother Mary could offend others and take away the energy you wish to create.

You might want to create an altar that portrays your desire to have healing for a loved one. In that instance the altar can be as simple as a photo of that loved one placed on a green cloth with a lovely candle. You might want to include a painting of a rainbow filled sky or any other picture that gives you the feeling of using the power of divine energy.

Designing and portraying your desires in that way turns what might have been perceived as a very blatant altar into a simple lovely display. Nothing is removed from the power of your desire by using an altar that doesn’t appear to others to be an altar. It is just a lovely decoration and cannot offend. The energy still creates what you want; in other words, it continually reminds you of your desired result. It maintains your focus every time you pass your special altar.

Perhaps one of your desires is to attract the right employment for yourself. Think about what the tools of the trade would be and use that kind of picture. It could be a photo of someone creating with a computer, drawing an architectural design or running a lawnmower depending on your desire to be employed or to create your own business. You might add photos of hundred dollar bills to see money flowing into you as the result of your employment.

With any altar always be sure to include your illustrated idea of accessing a supreme divine power as well. I have a favorite photo of a gold beam of sunlight penetrating the clouds and touching the top of the mountain. To me that beam comes from the highest power. It reminds me to call upon the highest and best for anything I desire.

Consider now what you want to add or change in your life and begin to create your own reminders. You can change your own altar as many times as you wish. It may stand for weeks or just days as your desires are fulfilled or as you change your focus. Your personal altars will work according to the intensity of your focus and belief.

My wish for you is the productive happy life your desire for yourself.
